This distressed hardwood floor has the feel of a Georgian Oak floorboard. It is lightly distressed on both the face and edges. It is intended to be a gently aged board produced after the industrial revolution and
has a classic, elegant feel.
These unique boards are hand worked to emphasise the flow of grain and the denser knots sit elevated and proud, whilst the surface appears abraded by the wear of time and takes on the appearance of a rolling landscape.
French Polishers use the term "Old English" to describe a very specific
Oak tone and we have captured this in this floor.
(Shown five years after installation).
The edges of all four sides of each board are handworked to create a broken and distressed edge. The face is also worked to create irregular indentations and wear marks.
